“ Absolutely incredible experience at Tally's Silver Spoon. The food and service are both fantastic. From the presentation to the taste and quality of the food, my wife and I were blown away. We were in from out of town for a few days and ate dinner at Tally's Silver Spoon almost every day. We highly recommend, and we will return during our next visit to Rapid City. Truly a gem! ”
“ Good enough that we ate breakfast here twice out of our three days in Rapid City. On our first visit, I had an omelet. It was huge and tasty--huge enough that I could only finish half of it, despite how good it was. The next morning, I had ham and cheese crepes. They were still tasty, but the portion size was more manageable. I also took the server's suggestion to get some maple syrup on the side for a nice sweet/savory combination. ”
“ First thing - Note that they charge a bogus 3.5% "Living Wage" surcharge. My normal tip was lowered by 3.5% due to this. These charges should be disclosed verbally by the host/hostess instead of being buried in a size 2 font on the menu. Now on to the review Note that it is a relatively small restaurant, so expect there to be a wait during high traffic times. We were lucky and were seated with no wait on a Saturday for breakfast. Service was excellent and our waiter was very attentive. The food was excellent and serving sizes were slightly more than I expected. The Special Breakfast (aka Tally's Original) is a great deal for breakfast, coming in at under $10. I opted for the Omelette and was not disappointed. 5 "toppings", hash browns, and a muffin/toast for $20. Not too bad. I was pleasantly surprised that the muffin was split, buttered and grilled. It was awesome! Highly suggest you give them a try. I would give them 5 stars if they didn't try to slam you with the bogus living wage surcharge. ”
“ I wish I had known this was just across the street from the Hotel Alex Johnson. I came across it my last day. Even walking to it, I wasn't sure it was the place until I saw etching in the glass. When cars are parked on the street, you cannot see the name of the restaurant. I sat at the bar for breakfast. They have a wonderful menu to please any palate. The service was outstanding. The bar is first-come-first served, but even that can get busy. Make reservations, if able. I would definitely make this a stop for breakfast. ”
“ Food was fantastic! Food came out hot, food came out quickly, and delicious! We had brunch over Memorial Day weekend, and we were nervous we weren't going to get a table but we went early before the crowd and happy we did! Service was great, always checking in and refilling drinks, and he was very nice and friendly! Tally's was highly recommended for brunch & dinner, and happy we made it for one meal! Parking is metered on the street, downtown parking. ”
“ We had a great time here celebrating a trip through South Dakota with friends!!! Felt very lucky I found a spot that would cook up a dinner entree for a vegan. They actually had a listed vegan option (pasta dish) on their main menu, but I was told when I ordered it that it was no longer offered. However, they made me a really nice tofu, rice noodle, and veggie vegan dish. Loved their wine and great service. It's a super cute spot too. Highly recommend & hope another vegan option earns a spot on the future menu :) ”
“ Recently stayed at the Alex Johnson, across the street from Tally's. Had a breakfast and dinner at Tally's during or stay. Breakfast was really good. Fast, friendly service. I had the bagel sandwich and subbed out the egg for tomato and spinach, absolutely delicious. Server offered me a coffee to go, which I happily accepted. It was a 16oz coffee! Awesome. My husband's eggs Bennie were reported to be very tasty. On to dinner.... Fine ambiance, kind of amazing this place can be both breakfast and nice dinner. Again the server was very friendly. Entrees were OK. My husband had the bison and it was pretty over done.. he ordered med rare and it came as med well. Not worth sending back. Kinda chewy but that just might be bison. I had the bolognese. Pasta was homemade and delicious. Sauce was tangy, dark red, mealy meat. Could be difference between my east coast taste buds and South Dakota fare but I wasn't a big fan. We got the bread service, extra $. Bread was basic baguette, butter was a melted butter dip with sage and oregano. Delicious. ”
